Here’s what’s happening this October…

We’ve beer awards to celebrate, a new autumn menu at Royal Parade, and the return of our Porter bottles!

In case you missed it…

October has plenty of exciting things on the horizon, but first, we’ve got a few highlights from last month to catch you up on:

Woodfest runners up! Our Harrogate Best Bitter took Silver at this year’s Woodfest Beer of Britain, with the award presented to Matthew and Joe last weekend. The competition celebrates beers specially conditioned and served from wooden casks, so we’re very pleased to have taken home a certificate!
National Railway museum beer tasting. We’re very honoured to supply train-themed beers (Flying Scotsman Pale, Mallard Bitter and Rocket Blonde) for the National Railway Museum, and last month we were invited to host a beer tasting for the patrons. The event was hosted inside the museum amongst the trains, which for Julie (who’s dad was a train driver) was very special indeed.

Great British Pub Awards. There was no time to relax as Julie and Joe got suited and booted to attend this year’s Great British Pub Awards. It’s a grand event every year and we were very proud to have our Wavey Marms IPA pouring on the independent bar.

We’re also very happy to announce that Harrogate Best Bitter has once again made the final for Best Beer at the Deliciously Yorkshire Awards – and this year it’s joined by our Kursaal Imperial Stout! Fingers crossed for the awards.

Foodie favourites Loaf n Loaded are dishing out their bratwurst menu for our Oktoberfest event! Please note’, this is a ticketed event and is now fully sold out!

This Halloween weekend at the Tap, we’ll have live music from Scott at Northern Acoustic on Friday night, followed by Halloween treats and spooky puzzles for the kids 2pm-4pm on Saturday.

Coming Up at Royal Parade…

Autumn Menu Our new autumn menu has landed, with beef shin & caramelised onion pie, pan roasted Barnsley lamb chop, confit pork belly, seasonal veggie dishes and a brand-new sandwich line-up!

Christmas at Royal Parade 🎄 Christmas bookings are now open! Gather your favourite people for a festive feast, with two or three courses featuring everything from beef sirloin and rolled lamb belly to Christmas pudding and sticky toffee pudding. Available from 1st November to 31st January.

Planning a Party? We’ve also launched our new Food & Drink Packages, with everything from welcome drinks and bar snack platters to hearty one-pots, traybakes and private dining. Ask at the bar or email for details.

Beer Fest Winners

York beer fest champions! Our team outing to York CAMRA beer festival was nicely topped off when our Beeching Axe IPA won gold in it’s category and silver overall. For those who attended, you’ll know there’s many beers in the running so we’re very pleased with the win.
