Festival Fun!
The festival kicked off Friday 11th August, a ticketed event where we were joined by fellow Yorkshire breweries; Northern Monk, Amity Brew co and Bini Brew co with their own pop up bars and excellent range of beers on offer. We also had extra seating, activities each day plus our own little photo area (as modelled by Julie and Matthew below!)
On the bar we had our two specially-brewed anniversary pale ales, one made with Apricot puree and the other using Nectaron New Zealand hops. Popular beers included Northern Monk’s strawberry, orange and pineapple 4.7% IPA called ‘Rocket Lolly’, Bini’s 4.5% Raspberry Gose named ‘Derek’, and of course Amity’s Nonsense, an 8% marshmallow stout.
We were excited to have two food vendors across the whole weekend for the event – Tiro from York joined us with their Sicilian arancini balls and Italian sandwiches, whilst Jack in a box had a full BBQ set up serving chicken gyro flatbreads and saucy burgers.
Each session we had a different form of live music on, from acoustic guitars to a Saturday night DJ set. There were also a variety of outdoors games to play, including our newest addition – a table football.
Sunday was our ‘Family Day’ where we were joined by a very talented artist from Pretty Little Faces offering free face painting for all of the children (and some adults!).
Overall we had an incredible weekend filled with fun, laughter and plenty of beer! Our taproom community never ceases to amaze us with their encouragement and support, so to everyone who joined us we’d just like to say – Thank You!
